The government is handing out up to £5000 in startup funding to certain companies to help with their digital requirements, and your business might qualify.
Known as the Digital Scotland Voucher scheme, the initiative aims to increase the understanding and usage of digital media across Scotland and to make scottish companies more competitive in international markets.
As a result, a £7 million development fund has been set up to help businesses acquire digital services.
What businesses qualify?
To qualify, businesses need to be registered with Business Gateway advisor. Businesses also need to fall into one of the following 3 categories:
- A Growth Advisory Service qualifying company
- A High Value startup
- A Potential High Value Startup
What can the funding be used for?
The funding can be used for digital services for your company. Examples could include:
- Website design & development
- eCommerce platforms
- Smartphone app development
- Social media services
- Search engine optimisation
- Staff training
- Software development
- other services to improve productivity and growth in your organisation
The grant can be used to cover the cost of both consultancy and implementation of the services.
Unfortunately the funding cannot be used for ongoing business costs such as wages, pay per click advertising and so on, nor can it be used for off the shelf software.
Obviously if you need some advice on the most effective way to make use of the grant, Antimatter Design can work with you and provide any information and insight into how a digital strategy would work for your business. (Call 0141 429 7555 for more information or visit the contact page)
